INFORMATION SEMINAR ON :
TAX IMPLICATIONS OF LAW N°042-2023/ALT ON THE FINANCE LAW FOR THE EXECUTION OF THE STATE BUDGET, FINANCIAL YEAR 2024 ADOPTED ON DECEMBER 15, 2023 PROMULGATED BY DECREE N°2023-1803/PRES-TRANS OF DECEMBER 28, 2023

Presented by Mr. Marc Sidoine GOUEM, legal expert and tax partner, Managing Director of AFRIQUE Juridique et Fiscal Conseil (AJFC).

Main objectives of this workshop

The aim of this information seminar on the tax implications of the 2024 Finance Act is to inform and raise awareness among companies, NGOs and legal, finance and accounting professionals of the technical adjustments made to the provisions of the General Tax Code, as well as the new tax measures.
This seminar, organized for the 15th consecutive year by AFRIQUE Juridique et Fiscal Conseil, enables participants to learn about these changes, comply with national tax legislation and avoid tax reassessments.
The aim of the seminar is to raise taxpayers' awareness of the need for optimal mobilization of tax resources, so as to provide the transitional government with the resources it needs to implement its projects, such as combating insecurity, tackling the humanitarian crisis, reforming the State and fighting corruption, which are among the transitional government's key priorities.
Each year for this same exercise, AJFC is supported by the Direction Générale des Impôts and the Direction Générale du Budget. The seminar is free of charge, and the materials for participants are also free of charge. This is AJFC's contribution to the popularization of tax texts and the promotion of tax awareness in Burkina Faso.

Expected outcomes of the seminar :

  • Participants will have the tools to better settle taxes in their respective companies;
  • That they understand the state budget and the government's expectations regarding the need to mobilize tax revenues for the 2024 fiscal year, which are expected to be worth around 2528.52 billion;
  • That they understand that the resources to be mobilized will only come from the income and resources of Burkinabé citizens, to enable the Burkinabé State to liberate the national territory from terrorism, but also to ensure humanitarian issues and the rebuilding of the State.
